Team Embiid Denies Altering Statement
WEB - The Philadelphia 76ers' All-Star center, Joel Embiid, could soon be donning the French national team jersey at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The France national men's basketball team general manager, Boris Diaw, remains confident that Embiid will join their squad, while the player's team insists he has not made any significant changes to his stance on the matter.
Embiid, who was born in Cameroon but holds French citizenship, has previously expressed interest in playing for France in international competitions. However, according to Diaw, Embiid's recent comments suggest he is now more committed to the idea.
Embiid's team, however, disputes Diaw's interpretation of the player's statements. They maintain that Embiid has not altered his position and that any previous statements were accurately represented.
If Embiid does join the French national team, he would become a formidable addition to a squad that already boasts a number of talented players, including Rudy Gobert, Evan Fournier, and Nicolas Batum.
