About Vlt Västerås

Vlt Västerås is a Swedish professional ice hockey club based in Västerås. The club was founded in 1923 and currently plays in the HockeyAllsvenskan, the second-highest level of ice hockey in Sweden.

Vlt Västerås has won the Swedish Championship once, in 1958. The club has also won the Swedish Cup twice, in 1999 and 2000.

History

Vlt Västerås was founded in 1923 as Västerås IK. The club's first major success came in 1958 when it won the Swedish Championship.

In 1965, the club changed its name to Vlt Västerås. The club continued to be successful in the 1970s and 1980s, winning the Swedish Cup in 1977 and 1981.

Vlt Västerås has struggled in recent years. The club was relegated to the HockeyAllsvenskan in 2013 and has not been able to return to the Swedish Hockey League since.

Vlt Västerås plays its home games at ABB Arena Nord, which has a capacity of 5,200.

ABB Arena Nord is a modern arena that opened in 2007. The arena is located in the center of Västerås and is easily accessible by public transportation.
