Mclaren F1 Boss We Had No Performance Advantage In Azerbaijan Grand Prix

McLaren F1 boss: We had no performance advantage in Azerbaijan Grand Prix

Zak Brown insists McLaren did not have an illegal car at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, despite concerns from rivals.

The team was investigated by the FIA after Red Bull and Mercedes raised concerns that McLaren was benefiting from a flexible rear wing, which would have given them a significant advantage on the high-speed Baku street circuit.

However, the FIA found no evidence to support these claims, and McLaren was cleared to continue racing.

Brown said McLaren was "disappointed" by the allegations, but insisted that the team had done nothing wrong.

"We were confident that our car was legal, and we are pleased that the FIA has confirmed this," he said.

"We have always been committed to fair play, and we would never do anything that would compromise the integrity of the sport."

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix was a disappointing one for McLaren, with both cars retiring from the race.

However, Brown said the team was not discouraged, and was looking forward to the next race in Canada.

"We had a difficult weekend in Baku, but we learned a lot," he said.

"We know that we have a fast car, and we are confident that we can challenge for podiums in the races to come."
