Utah's New NHL Team

The Utah NHL team is a professional ice hockey expansion team that will be based in Salt Lake City.

The team was announced in December 2021 and will begin play in the 2025-26 season. The team will play its home games at Vivint Arena. The team's ownership group is led by Ryan Smith, who also owns the Utah Jazz NBA team. The team's general manager is Craig Button, who previously worked in the front office of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Calgary Flames.

Utah Grizzlies

The Utah Grizzlies are a minor league hockey team affiliated with the Colorado Avalanche.

The team was founded in 1995 and plays in the ECHL, the third tier of American hockey. The team's home arena is Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah. The team's head coach is Ryan Kinasewich. The team's roster includes several players who have played in the NHL, including goaltender Tyler Parks and defenseman Jake Chelios.
